What the CV builder does with your data
You build your CV in a chat and can then fine-tune it in the editor. Everything you type, including any photo, is saved only in your browser’s local storage on your device. It is never sent to us and we can’t see it. Anyone using the same browser profile can see it, so clear it when you finish on a shared device.
There are no accounts, sign-up or payments. Nothing you type is sent to any AI provider. If we add optional AI help later, we will update this notice first.
Browser storage we use
The builder sets these items in your browser’s local storage. <site code> is a fixed code made from this website’s address; it is the same for everyone and does not identify you.

They have no expiry date and stay until you remove them. “Start over” empties your answers and CV. To remove everything, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. This storage is strictly necessary for the builder you asked to use, so no consent is needed (Regulation 5(5), S.I. No. 336 of 2011).
Cookies
The CV builder sets no cookies, and our pages load nothing from other companies’ servers.
When we checked the live site on 21 October 2026, we found only these:
wordpress_test_cookie: set by WordPress only if you open the login page (meant for the site owner). It checks that cookies work and is deleted when you close the browser.- Our host’s network (Hostinger CDN) may set a security cookie if it shows a “Checking your browser” test, to protect the site from attacks and bots.
We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
Server logs at our host
Our host records basic details of each request in server logs: IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, and browser type. We use them only to keep the site running and secure. They are kept for a short period, set by our host; our hosting control panel shows the last 7 days.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in running a secure, working website.
Who processes data for us
Hostinger hosts the website as our processor, under its Data Processing Addendum (last revised 29 September 2026). The contracting company is Hostinger Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). Our site is hosted in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission has recognised as giving adequate protection (an adequacy decision under GDPR Article 45), and our host keeps backups in Germany. For any transfer outside the EEA, Hostinger’s addendum uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep data
- CV and browser storage: on your device until you clear it. We never have a copy.
- Server logs: a short period, set by our host.
- Emails to us: 12 months after we have dealt with them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict its use, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Your CV is under your control in your browser; we hold no copy, so we can’t retrieve or delete it for you.
Email support@resume.gs. We will reply within one month (extendable by two months for complex requests, in which case we’ll tell you why).
Complaints
Please contact us first. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, Ireland: www.dataprotection.ie, or the data protection authority where you live or work in the EU.
Children
resume.gs is for people preparing a CV for work. It doesn’t ask your age, and because your CV stays on your device, we don’t collect it from anyone, children included. If you are under 16 and want to contact us about your data, please ask a parent or guardian to help.
Changes to this notice
We will publish changes here with a new version and date, and update this notice before adding any feature that handles personal data differently, such as accounts or optional AI help.
